Southern Living's 2009 Idea House Is Now Open To Visitors

Southern Living Idea HouseThis house located within the Cinnamon Shore development is one of the two houses chosen by Southern Living Magazine to be featured in their August issue.  As of June 6, 2009 the doors have been opened to welcome all those wishing to tour it and view the wonderful details built into the house as well as those added by the interior decorator.

According to the executive editor of Southern Living, Derick Belden, among the reasons Cinnamon Shore was chosen for the Idea House was because its editors recognized and appreciated the uniqueness and beauty of Port Aransas, the beach and the Cinnamon Shore project.

Cinnamon Shore is located near the southern city limits of Port Aransas off of State Hwy 361.  It is planned as a New Urbanism development. Pedestrian friendly streets will interconnect the entire neighborhood. It is a 64 acre mixed-use community, which upon completion will include approximately 300 homes and condominiums, a town center, with shops, restaurants, hotel, parks and recreational amenities such as pools. The development currently has Port Aransas' largest private pool, Kiera's Pool, measuring 60' x 85'.  It has a beach entry for the kiddos, a seating area in the deeper end for the adults and an infiniti edge appearing to spill over to Lake Gavin.

The Idea House was built by Keystone Company of Port Aransas. It boasts views of the Gulf of Mexico from all floos, sleeps up to 16 people, has 5 bedrooms,, 5.5 baths plus a loft.  It is approximately 3,700 square feet including 2 master suites, multiple porches with gulf views, all bedrooms with a private bath, open floorplan and a separate canoe house with guest quarters above it.  There are also Viking appliances throughout the house as well as 2 outdoor fireplaces.

It is estimated that approximately 12 million people will see the house either in the magazine, in person or online, according to the magazine's editors.  This house is truly a sight to behold.  Located within 300 feet from the beach, you will not want to miss an opportunity to tour this house on your next trip to Port Aransas!
