Newport Beach Resort is designed to be a destination with a sense of communityon 2200 acres with an Arnold Palmer Signiture golf course

Newport Beach & Golf is comprised of 2200 acres on Mustang Island near Corpus Christi and the renowned sport-fishing haven of Port Aransas. Blending a town center with four distinct villages woven together with luxury homes and town homes, hotels, two championship golf courses, a marina with boat slips, and a host of recreational amenities, Newport Beach & Golf will take its place among the unique resorts of the world.

Conceived as a resort, Newport Beach is designed to be a vibrant, active destination where the sense of community will attract second home buyers and permanent residents alike. Each village will have a distinct style of architecture blending single-family homes and town homes into a comfortable community with easy access to the beach, marina and other amenities.

The under-construction Newport Dunes Golf Course now is almost completely grassed, and the facility could open for play in 2009.

The golf course boasts drought- and salt-resistant turf; a computer-guided irrigation system that controls nearly 2,000 sprinkler heads; and a golf cart bridge over State Hwy 361

The course will eventually have hundreds of homes around the course.

The 18-hole links-style golf course, located on both sides of State Hwy. 361, will be an Arnold Palmer Signature course.

That means the world-famous pro golfer personally is overseeing decisions about how the course is designed and built .

The Eight ponds on the golf course will be stocked with fish including tilapia, bass and catfish.

Opportunities to fish in the ponds will be selling points for people considering moving into the Newport development.

Four to twelve homes are expected to be built in Phase I of the development by early 2009.

Phase I eventually will include 95 single-family residences and 500 multi-family units, plus some commercial space.
